Foodgasm situated at Bandra Reclamation in Bandra West, Mumbai, is one of the very niche food joint serving superb food with the concept of Health First... All the food items that we tasted at Foodgasm were prepared with the thought of enhancing the taste of health food, which is usually not very tasty. The menu is curated by renowned Chef Varun Inamdar who is known for his curating one of the finest food menus and has served his delicacies to the dignitaries of the world like Barack Obama, Nicholas Sarkozy and Vladimir Putin and in India, world renowned cricketer Sachin Tendulkar & Ambani family. The resturant is run by Mr. Kapil Ghorpade, a young, enthusiastic entrepreneur with love for fitness and healthy food. He is also a half marathoner and crossfit lover.

The Drink that we tasted included Sea Breeze (coconut water, mint and lemon juice drink), Fruity Mojito ( Strawberry and watermelon Mojito) and Avocado Lassi. Frankly all the drinks were lacking the punch in taste and presentation. It would be great if they can improve upon that.

The Appetizers were very interesting and tasty. We tried Twisted Pani Puri (Quinoa, chickpeas, chana dal, served with shelled pomegranates & kala khatta flavoured pani) which was very interesting version of the Mumbai street favorite, although the quality of Puri could have been better. Bruschetta with mutton keema & wilted spinach bheja masala called The Super Pretty One was really nice in flavor. Tandoori Platter(Vegitarian) called Apne Khet Se was a combination of Tandoori corn, Thai mushrooms, pesto potatoes, malai broccoli & kesari cauliflower. Thai Mushrooms were great, Corn bit over done. We also has two Wraps, Pesto-fied Cottage Cheese and Shrimp Koli Masala. The filling in both the wraps was superb, but the wheat roll was a bit on the thicker side. Overall, great stuff...

We also tried two soups, Hara Pyaaz(Creamed spring onion soup topped with tofu & chives) and Something Fishy. Something fishy, a sea food broth as the name suggests had full sized prawns, fish and shrimps. Both of them were very good and highly recommended.

Now to the main course, we were quite full with the soup and appetizers, but Mr. Kapil insisted that we must try their most popular main course items of Quinoa Biryani, Black Rice Pilaf and Calangaute in Bandra, A goan fish curry. The Biryani was ok, but the Black Rice Pilaf was outstanding! The Black rice, sourced specially from North-East India was subtly flavored and worth every grain! The Fish Curry, served with healthy Red Rice was too good. This was an additional course of food that we had, but it was worth overeating... You see, it's all healthy!!!

We ended our meals with desserts, The Ultimate Dub-Mash(Crumbled dark chocolate & whole wheat brownie) and Baked Yogurt with Strawberries, both of them, though high on calories, were on the healthier side.

Overall, Foodgasm is a great place to have a quite meal( breakfast, lunch or dinner). It's relatively small in size but the food makes up for everything. The place has free wi-fi and is wheelchair accessible. There is a separate outside sitting area which is smoker friendly. If you don't plan to go there, don't worry, you can order home delivery and the food will be delivered at your door step...
